The Skin circle is a representation of body image and escapism and is designed as a tool of reflection. To help myself and others to explore the relationship between us and our bodies through the concept of skin and materiality. The audience is encouraged to step inside, stretch and imprint themselves onto the fabric and release any negative thoughts.
Artist Statement -
Sophie Lines is a Southampton based artist who loves to explore her passion through multidisciplinary works. She is heavily influenced by nature, materiality, the human form and explores these through process-based works that evoke an emotional response. For around 15 years she danced recreationally, competitively and enjoys incorporating this into her practice.
